Payment card reader

A payment card reader serves the purpose of accepting payment for a product – for example from the vending machine, the cash register in the canteen or paying for copying and printing.

Before a Sagio card is used in a payment card reader, it is provided with a balance that are written off every time the card is used for payment. The balance can either be payed by a system administrator by means of the administration program from Sagio or the users can transfer money to the card themselves, by one of the card service centers from Sagio.

Cards as cash

The balance on a Sagio card is regarded as cash – and it can be spend by anyone who possesses the card. If a Sagio card is used solely on payment, it is not necessary to have the card personalized for one particular person.
